Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to re-grip clubs?
Most grips take about 1 minute per club to install. Full sets are usually completed very quickly, depending on the number of clubs and the type of work being done.
Why don’t the grips need time to dry or cure?
Many modern grips can be installed using compressed air rather than traditional tape and solvent methods. This allows the grips to be played immediately after installation without waiting for them to dry.
How long before I can use my clubs?
Most clubs can be used instantly after installation. If a grip requires adhesive or a traditional installation method, we’ll let you know if any drying time is needed.
Are you mobile?
Yes! Quik Grips specializes in mobile and on-site golf club re-gripping throughout Idaho. We work at golf courses, tournaments, leagues, simulators, trade shows, private appointments, and more.

How long have you been doing this?
Chad has been professionally re-gripping clubs since 2022 and has re-gripped thousands and thousands of clubs throughout Idaho and Arizona.
Have you ever seen grips move after air installation?
Most grips can safely be installed with air and will not move when installed properly. There are certain grips, based on their material, construction, or size, that require traditional adhesive methods instead. There are also select grips that should not be installed with air because it can damage them.
At Quik Grips, we know which grips work best with each installation method and install them appropriately to ensure long-lasting performance and reliability.
Do you cut shafts?
Yes. We offer shaft cutting and club length adjustments.
Do you extend clubs?
Yes. We can install shaft extensions to help properly fit your clubs to your height and setup.
Do you replace shafts?
Yes. Shaft replacements and re-shafting services are available.
Can you remove my old grip and reinstall it?
Sometimes. Many grips can be safely removed and reinstalled, but not all grips can be saved. Factors like the grip material, age, size, condition, and original installation method all play a role.
Most grips are typically removed by cutting them off, but if you'd like us to try to save your grip, we’ll absolutely do our best.
I have arthritis, hand pain, or trouble gripping the club. What grips should I use?
There are many grip options specifically designed to reduce grip pressure, vibration, and strain on the hands and wrists. Softer grips, larger grip sizes, reduced taper grips, and shock-absorbing materials can all help improve comfort.
We’re happy to help recommend a grip setup based on your needs and preferences.
Why doesn’t everyone install grips like you do?
Every club builder and golf shop has their own preferred installation methods. Air installation requires experience, proper equipment, and knowledge of which grips can safely be installed that way.
At Quik Grips, we use a variety of installation methods depending on the grip and application to provide the best results possible.
How are your grip prices compared to major retailers?
Our online grip pricing is designed to stay competitive with major golf retailers like PGA Tour Superstore, Golf Galaxy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. We also offer the added convenience of mobile installation, local pickup, custom grip fittings, and on-site service.
Do I need new grips?
If your grips feel slick, hard, worn, cracked, or you find yourself gripping the club tighter than usual, it may be time for new grips. Fresh grips can improve comfort, confidence, control, and consistency.
What grip size should I use?
Grip size depends on personal preference, hand size, grip pressure, and ball flight tendencies. We offer undersize, standard, midsize, jumbo, and specialty grip options and can help fit you into the right setup.
Do you install customer-supplied grips?
Yes. If you already have grips, we can install them for you.
Do you offer custom orders?
